Two former Lobo assistants land new jobs

A pair of former Lobo basketball assistants have landed new jobs.

Terrence Rencher, who was an assistant under Craig Neal the past two seasons, was formally announced Thursday at the University of San Diego as an assistant coach by another former Lobo assistant, Lamont Smith, who is the Toreros’ head coach.

Former Lobo walk-on (2015-16) and graduate assistant (2016-17) Mike Nesbitt, meanwhile, will join former UNLV interim head coach Todd Simon’s staff at Southern Utah. The 24-year-old Nesbitt will be a special assistant to the head coach. Nesbitt earned his MBA in Finance on Saturday from UNM.

The current Lobos coaching and support staff has one vacancy remaining for an assistant coach, which new coach Paul Weir has not yet announced.
