ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The theme, “Caring,” highlights taking care of veterans when they return home
The theme for this year’s Veterans Day ceremony at Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park in northern New Mexico is “Caring,” which highlights taking care of veterans when they return home, according to the park.
The park said in a news release Monday that it will offer information and support for returning veterans during Thursday’s ceremony.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the park’s amphitheater. Speakers include Joseph Duran, outreach specialist for the Santa Fe Vet Center, who will present awards and read a tribute to Vietnam veterans; and Deborah Halpern, counselor for the National Veterans Wellness & Healing Retreat, who will speak about the success of the retreats for returning veterans, according to the news release.
The ceremony also will include patriotic music by the Cimarron High School band and a Black Hawk UH60 helicopter static display, the news release said.
