Local golf: Rangefinder is affordable

If you’ve been looking for a rangefinder but haven’t wanted to spend one month’s worth of green fees on it, TecTecTec! could have the answer. The company has a technologically advanced, yet affordable laser rangefinder (list price: $149.99).

“I like to stock rangefinders; they are popular items,” said Bill Harvey, director of golf at Ladera. “But most people shy away when they see the prices. I’m glad to see more competition with them. They are still the best device to speed up play.”

The company offers a variety of leading-edge models, including the recently launched VPRODLX 1K, the VPRO500 (pictured) and the VPRO DLX. Each is available in standard and “S” editions, which feature PinSlope Technology to calculate elevation-adjusted distance to the target.

They measure overlapping targets, including flagsticks and wooded areas; Target Priority displays distance of the closest subject; and Scan Mode helps read distances to hazards.

The items have a two-year warranty and a 30-day full refund guarantee. More information: www.us.tectectec.com
