ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police are looking for a “person of interest” who left the scene in a white SUV after a triple shooting that killed a 14-year-old boy and injured two other teenagers at Dion’s pizza restaurant Friday night, according to a spokeswoman for the Albuquerque Police Department.
Celina Espinoza said they don’t know the make or model of the SUV but believe it may be connected to the shooting.
“Investigators believe the vehicle was occupied by at least one male and one female,” she wrote in an email.
Police were called to the Dion’s parking lot on University near Gibson around 9 p.m. Friday. They say when they got there they found three people with gun shot wounds.
One victim, 14-year-old Martin Recio, died at the hospital. The other two are in stable condition, police say.
Espinoza said the shooting does not appear to be a random crime and detectives are working to investigate every lead.
“We are asking anyone who may have even the smallest piece of information related to this crime to please come forward,” she said.
