Dion’s testing green chile ranch dressing

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — There are at least two things that New Mexicans love: green chile and Dion’s Ranch Dressing. Well, you may soon be able to get the two together.

Dion’s Marketing Director Deena Crawley confirmed the popular local pizza chain will begin testing Green Chile Ranch Dressing today in Las Cruces.

Both Las Cruces Dion’s locations will participate in testing the new product before a possible company-wide rollout. Details on potential wide-scale release of the new dressing are pending.

“We are still testing the product. We will take in all of the feedback and see what the next step is at that time,” Crawley said.

“It’s honestly something that has been in the works for years,” said Crawley. “We finally got the flavor right.”

Dion’s uses a test kitchen for creating new products, and Crawley said that often, those products are inspired by Dion’s employees, many of whom have been mixing their own green chile ranch dressing for years.

Earlier this year, Dion’s ran low on Ranch Dressing while it upgraded its production facility, prompting considerable angst among fans.
