ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives are investigating after a woman was shot and killed in southeast Albuquerque early Tuesday morning.
Celina Espinoza, a spokeswoman for the Albuquerque Police Department, said around 4 a.m. police were called to Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital for a woman in her late 20’s who had been shot. The woman died at the hospital.
“Through further investigation, officers located a scene on the 6400 block of Cochiti Road SE,” Espinoza wrote in an email. “Numerous casings from different firearms were located at the scene.”
Espinoza did not release the woman’s name because she said her next of kin have not yet been notified.
She said detectives are serving search warrants, conducting interviews, canvassing for witnesses and processing evidence for this case.
Crime Scene Investigators and APD’s Mobile Crime Lab remained at the scene into the mid afternoon.
