3 write-in candidates certified in Albuquerque mayor’s race

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Old Town resident Stella Padilla, who lost a legal battle to appear on this year’s mayoral ballot, isn’t giving up just yet.

Padilla and two other Albuquerque residents filed to run as write-in candidates for mayor. Their names will not appear on the ballot, but voters are free to write them in. Other write-in candidates are Pablo Reyes, a lifelong Albuquerque resident who lives on the west side and sells firewood for a living, and Keith Judd, who lives in northeast Albuquerque.

There are already eight mayoral candidates on the ballot.

Election Day is Oct. 3.

Early voting begins Sept. 13.

But if you want to vote and haven’t yet registered, time is running out. The deadline to register is Sept. 5. Among the places you can register to vote are at the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office and online through the New Mexico Secretary of State’s website.
