A person was found dead inside a home that caught on fire near Comanche and Louisiana Friday morning.
It’s unclear if the person died in the fire or prior to the blaze, but police spokesman Tanner Tixier said foul play is not suspected.
“The Office of the Medical Investigator will still need to conduct further evaluations to determine cause of death, but does not believe it to be suspicious at this time,” police spokesman Tanner Tixier said.
Albuquerque Fire Department spokeswoman Melissa Romero said when firefighters arrived they found a fire in the kitchen and heavy smoke damage throughout the home on the 7000 block of Comanche NE.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation,” she said.
