ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Cabela’s, a Nebraska-based sports outfitter, is stocked and ready to open on Sept. 21.
Cabela’s offered a sneak preview of its its new 71,000 square foot store in Legacy @Journal Center near Paseo and Interstate 25 to journalists on Tuesday. It is packed with everything from camping equipment to hunting gear, with large arrays of guns and archery equipment, fishing gear and its own line of clothing. The Albuquerque location, the state’s first, is designed to have a local feel with murals on every wall depicting New Mexican landscapes. It is also decorated with dozens of mounted animals, all of which can be found in New Mexico.
Customers will be able to use state-of-the-art interactive displays like large touch screen maps and virtual reality goggles to check out Cabela’s products, a handgun display that allows customers to safely test recoil and an indoor archery range.
