LAS VEGAS — Bob Clifford has resigned as New Mexico Highlands athletic director, the school announced Monday. Fourth-year men’s basketball coach Craig Snow, a former University of New Mexico assistant, has been appointed interim AD.
The school gave no details on the resignation of Clifford, including if he is leaving on his own terms or if a buyout is involved. In a statement, the school credited him for helping negotiate a funding agreement with Nike, replacing the athletic field turf and renovating the Stu Clark Building, which houses several of the athletics programs.
“I am extremely grateful to Mr. Clifford for bringing new excitement to the Highlands athletic program and to Mr. Snow for stepping up to continue our progress,” said Highlands President Sam Minner in a statement from Highlands.
