Did You Know New Mexico Beat Both California and Texas in Landing the 2017 US-China Trade Summit? Let’s Show Them Why.

Presented by: Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors

The Voice of Real Estate in the Greater Albuquerque area. The Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® (GAAR) represents the growing region of Central New Mexico, which includes Bernalillo, Valencia, Sandoval, Torrance, parts of Socorro and Santa Fe Counties, and is recognized as the leading provider of real estate information services and data in New Mexico.

Fellow New Mexican:

The Realtor family in NM wants to share with you an event that starts next week that could be a game changer for our community.  Starting on October 2nd, more than a hundred qualified, vetted and excited Chinese investors and business leaders will be in our state, learning about our markets, meeting like- minded business leaders and looking for opportunities to invest.

More than 100 business leaders from The International Chinese Entrepreneur Association and the America China Civic Exchange have chosen to spend their national holiday, often known as the golden week, in our community, learning about us, our community and the opportunities that exist to be partners in businesses, investments, housing, infrastructure and new development.

This annual business summit is normally held in port cities like Los Angeles and Houston, but this year the City of Albuquerque is host, giving New Mexico companies an unprecedented opportunity for both local and global expansion. From manufacturing to media, construction to consulting, entertainment to education and computer programming to food processing, this conference will showcase opportunities to do business in China and help Chinese business leaders find opportunities in the U.S.

If you are feeling a bit rusty on your knowledge of the Chinese economy/demographics, please know these three things:

  1. There are more English-speaking Chinese than there are English speaking Americans.
  2. There are more Chinese Millionaires than there are American Millionaires
  3. There are more Chinese Billionaires than there are American Billionaires.

And they are headed our way.

“This is the first time that such a large group of Chinese has come to New Mexico seeking business opportunities,” said Jian Zhu, Summit Chair and ICEA incoming Board of Directors Chair. “Our goal is for people to attend, pen in hand, ready to sign memorandums of understanding and letters of intent.”

The anticipation is that these investments are not just one-off transactions, but long term, enduring investments in our community.

At this amazing event, speakers will include Mayor Richard J. Berry, City of Albuquerque; Mr. Guibing Li, President of TTFly (world’s largest online aviation network) and President of Alibaba Online Chamber of Commerce:  Deborah Burns, CEO and Director, investUS LLC; Song Cao, President, ICEA; Mark Lautman, Founding Director, Community Economics Lab; Steve McKee, President, McKee Wallwork + Company; Gary Oppedahl, Director, Economic Development Department; and more.

Next week you will see our Chinese friends in downtown Albuquerque, downtown Santa Fe, or at the Balloon Fiesta – please help us welcome them to New Mexico and seek out opportunities to exchange ideas, culture, and business cards.

The Realtors (GAAR, CARNM and RANM) and developers (NAIOP) in your community have dozens of volunteers who are working tirelessly, to help our guests fall in love with our enchanted state.  You can learn more about the event at .

And remember, the Chinese word for opportunity is “Albuquerque.”
