Two Lobos at far right are seen kneeling during the playing of the national anthem during halftime of the Sept. 30, 2017, UNM Lobos homecoming football game against the U.S. Air Force Academy. The anthem was played at halftime due to pregame weather delays. (Roberto E. Rosales/Albuquerque Journal) ggrammer@abqjournal.com Sat Sep 30 20:41:43 -0600 2017 1506825702 FILENAME: 781575.JPG

AFTER TONIGHT’S protest, UNM should just as well take the “death penalty”. With no attendance and no television revenue, there is no way it can continue the football program. For me, I will not attend a game or watch them on TV until Davie quits and the current players, who protested, quit or graduate. — David Woodward

FIRST COLLEGE FOOTBALL team have players kneel in protest on National TV. Disgraceful! Especially during Military Appreciation Day. Davie needs to take a lesson from Lou Holtz who tells his players to keep there causes at home. We will no longer support Lobo Athletics if this continues.

— Soon to be former Lobo Fan!

COACH DAVIE: I am very disappointed to see you let several of your players take a knee instead of respecting our National Anthem. It is even more upsetting that the Air Force Academy Men stood strong and respected our Anthem and your players just ignored it. Wake up and do the right thing

IDIOTS: I have lived in New Mexico for almost 50 years, and have supported the Lobos by both attendance and financially. I became a “who ever they are playing” fan at halftime tonight.
