Francisco Saucedo, 61, was in custody awaiting a preventative detention hearing, according to documents filed in Sandoval County Magistrate Court. He was arrested after the state Attorney General’s Office launched a child pornography investigation in July, when investigators found evidence that a computer in Rio Rancho was being used to download and share child pornography with a peer-to-peer file sharing program, according to court records.

When investigators executed a search warrant at Saucedo’s home on Sept. 14, he admitted in an interview that he had downloaded child pornography. But he said it was unintentional and someone was “force-feeding” him the porn, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

“I must have hit the porno gold mine for child pornography,” Saucedo said at one point, according to the affidavit.

While reviewing Saucedo’s computer, officers also found at least one document in which Saucedo, the apparent author, relates a story about sexually assaulting a young relative during a girl’s sleepover party, according to the affidavit.

On Sept. 15, a 7-year-old girl was interviewed, and the girl described being sexually assaulted by Saucedo.

Authorities later found nude pictures of that child on Saucedo’s phone.

Saucedo is a registered sex offender because of a conviction in Virginia and he never registered in New Mexico, according to court documents.

It was unclear Tuesday if Saucedo has hired an attorney.

He has been charged with criminal sexual penetration, manufacturing, distribution and possession of child pornography, voyeurism, and failing to register as a sex offender.
