More tacos are about to start pouring into Albuquerque. R Tacos, a national chain owned by Buffalo Wild Wings, announced it has secured a franchisee for the New Mexico market.

JJ&D Enterprises has signed an initial agreement to open four locations in Albuquerque and Las Cruces over the next four years.

The new locations will be the first in New Mexico.

JJ&D Enterprises is owned by locals Justin Hall, Jason Bowles and Dylan Kennedy,

“I stumbled upon R Taco when visiting Dallas four years ago. Since then I’ve made it a point to dine there on every visit,” Hall said in a release. “It was during a visit to Denver that I realized R Taco was a franchise and knew immediately I had to bring this amazing concept to Albuquerque.”

R Tacos, formerly Rusty Tacos, is a fast-casual restaurant that offers street-style tacos at 24 locations nationwide — 10 company-owned, 14 franchises — in seven states.

The company was founded in 2010 by Rusty Fenton and Steve Dunn and was originally called Rusty Tacos but was shortened to R Tacos in 2015 in order to “provide broader appeal as the company continues to expand beyond its Dallas roots,” the company said in the release.

R Tacos serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Locations for the new restaurants have not yet been determined.
