U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham, D-NM, sent an email to her supporters earlier today urging them to vote for State Auditor Tim Keller, a fellow Democrat who is running to be Albuquerque’s next mayor.
“We deserve a mayor that reflects our values of innovation, inclusivity, and caring for our neighbors — we deserve Tim Keller,” Lujan Grisham said. “I’m proud to endorse Tim and I know he’s the right choice to create the jobs and opportunities Albuquerque needs.”
She said Keller has proven he has what it takes to get the city’s economy moving again.
“He’s someone our local business and entrepreneurs can count on to prioritize real concrete steps to help them grow their businesses and succeed,” Lujan Grisham said.
Keller is facing Republican Dan Lewis in Albuquerque’s Nov. 14 runoff. Early voting begins Wednesday.
Keller was also recently endorsed by U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich and former mayoral candidate Brian Colón, both Democrats. City races are nonpartisan, meaning that candidate’s political affiliations will not appear on the ballot.
