EL PASO – The New Mexico State men’s golf team wrapped up day one of competition at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational on Friday. With a first-round team total of 281 (-3) the Aggies sit in a tie for third out of 13 teams.
Team play was led by Tadhg Campbell who fired a four-under, 67, to tie for third on the individual leaderboard. Michael McGilton and Taylor Stote each fired a 71 (E) to tie for 18th through the first 18 holes. Stote also leads the Aggies and is second in the tournament field with seven birdies.
Jack Snyder comes in at 72 (+1) to tie for 27th and Isaac Merry rounds out the Aggie starters with a score of 73 (+2) to tie for 39th.
Host UTEP currently sits atop the leaderboard with a team score of 275 (-9), followed by Texas State in second at 276 (-8), while NMSU, Oral Roberts and No. 24 Marquette are all tied for third at 281 (-3)
The second round of play at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational begins on Saturday at 8 a.m. MT. Live scoring can be followed on Golfstat.
