SANTA FE – A 30-year-old man was shot Sunday night while walking on Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe.
A police spokesman said the man, whose identity was not released, was near the Motel 6 across from the Denny’s Restaurant at 3004 Cerrillos when he heard “a couple of pops” and felt pain in his arm.
The police weren’t called until the man showed up at Christus St. Vincent Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound in his left arm about 8:30 p.m. He had been driven to there by his brother, who left the hospital after putting the wounded man in a wheelchair, according to the hospital staff.
“It appears to be a random shooting,” said SFPD spokesman Greg Gurule.
