SF candidates certified for March vote

It’s now official.

City of Santa Fe Clerk Yolanda Vigil this week formally certified the candidates who will have their names on the ballot for the March 6 municipal election, and on Thursday the order – not to be confused with their rank – in which those names will appear on the ballot was determined by drawing.

Barring a successful appeal to the state Supreme Court of a district court judge’s decision last week, Santa Fe’s 2018 municipal election will be the first in New Mexico conducted by use of the ranked-choice method of voting.

Here’s the order in which the names will appear on the ballot for the March 6 election for mayor and four City Council positions, based on the random drawing at City Hall late Thursday:

MAYOR:

Peter N. Ives

Alan Webber

Kate I. Noble

Joseph M. Maestas

Ronald S. Trujillo

DISTRICT 1:

Signe I. Lindell

Marie Campos

DISTRICT 2:

Nate Downey

Carol Romero-Wirth

Joe H. Arrellano

DISTRICT 3:

Roman “Tiger” Abeyta

DISTRICT 4:

Eric John Holmes

Greg Scargall

JoAnne Vigil Coppler
