TO THE UNM women’s fans who think their team should be ranked with an 11-0 record while Stanford has a dismal record and is ranked, I have just a few words for them: strength of schedule. The only two teams that UNM played, Navy and Marquette, play a strong schedule, while the UNM women have played rinky dink teams. Sorry, but that’s the way it is. … Maybe next week they will be ranked. Hope so.

THE CURTAIN recently fell on this season’s UNM football team’s “kneeling” drama. Raise another curtain for the UNM men’s basketball team. Too many distractions for both teams. Since the inception of the Pit on Dec. 1, 1966, well over 13 million fans have gone through the turnstiles to see some exciting games and create one of the great atmospheres in college basketball. Shouldn’t it be a privilege for each and every Lobo player to come down that ramp to play before such a crowd?
JACK MORRIS in the Baseball Hall of Fame with a lifetime ERA of 3.90. What a joke.
LAVAR BALL couldn’t find Lithuania on a map. Is sending him and his sons to a Baltic Republic a crime against humanity?

I WOULD LIKE to inform AD Eddie Nuñez and Coach Davie that in a state that is a host to 4 military bases, 2 national defense labs and home to (thousands of) veterans, Lobo football players taking a knee during the national anthem in front of the Air Force Cadets wasn’t the smartest thing in the world to do. Unless amends are made, good luck with next year’s football attendance.

IT’S TRUE, you know, THE Ohio State University football team does not deserve to be No. 4 in the rankings. After all, they failed to schedule Mercer (who ?) for a Nov. 18 showdown.
