WOW! A lot can happen in a year. And that’s just sports. Thanks Rick (of the Journal) of putting things into perspective and bringing back some notable memories. What will 2018 bring?

I SURE HOPE no one suffered any burnt out brain cells in coming up with the 33 words that were used to describe the 2017 UNM Women’s Basketball season in that “Chaos reigned amid much triumph” article.

NMSU AGGIES in a bowl game (Arizona Bowl), NMSU men’s basketball beats a nationally ranked top 10 team, Miami. LG in LC. UNM green with envy? They should be. Little brother has grown up.
SORRY VINCE GUILLEN, the refs got the Jesse James play right. As the catch rule is written now, the refs correctly made the decision, a strict interpretation of the rule. James did not complete the Catch-Play process period. At the end of the Catch-Play process, James loses possession of the ball as it clearly hits the ground. It was not a fumble, refs did not call it a fumble, they called it an incomplete pass, the correct call.
OK, we’re done with this. I hope. — Randy, Journal
I JUST READ a headline on the internet that Zeke Elliot “partied and drank champagne in Cabo”! Time for Mr. High-and-Mighty to suspend him for another six games. He actually did something all 20-something men might do and we wouldn’t want to put up with that, now would we?
