ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Former UFC fighter Isaac Vallie-Flagg was arrested Friday in Rio Rancho.
According to a news release on the Sandoval County Sheriff Department’s website, Vallie-Flagg, 39, was arrested at about 2 p.m. while allegedly attempting to burglarize a commercial property near the intersection of Southern and 60th SW.
According to the release, Vallie-Flagg had cut the chain to the gate of the property and driven onto the grounds. Deputies said he was found in possession of a handgun and a semi-automatic rifle with a silencer.
Specific charges are pending, according to the release.
Flagg retired in 2016 with a career record of 16-7-1. Having worked his way through the ranks, he was 2-0 in Strikeforce completion, then won his UFC debut with a victory by split decision over Yves Edwards in February 2013. But after three consecutive losses he was dropped by the UFC.
He retired after a victory by first-round submission (rear naked choke) over Jonathan Gary on a Fresquez Productions card at Route 66 Casino Hotel in August 2016.
