Rapper Kendrick Lamar is coming to ABQ with newcomer SZA

Seven-time Grammy Award winner Kendrick Lamar will perform in Albuquerque on May 15 at Isleta Amphitheater.

The rapper is on tour as part of the “TDE: The Championship Tour.” He will touring with Top Dawg Entertainment’s roster, including Grammy-nominated SZA, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Sould, SiR and Lance Skiiiwalker.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at noon on Friday at

This year, Lamar is nominated for seven Grammys for his album “Damn.”

Newcomer SZA is up for five Grammy Awards in 2018 for her debut album, “Ctrl.”

Both albums were also included in top rankings on several year-end lists in 2017, including in The New York Times, Rolling Stone and USA Today.

The Grammy broadcast airs on Sunday.

The Los Angeles-based label shows no signs of slowing down in 2018 with the recent announcement that Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith will curate and produce Marvel Studios’ Black Panther soundtrack.

The label is also releasing newcomer SiR’s debut album “November” today, after the release of his hit collaboration with label-mate Schoolboy Q, “Something Foreign.”
