Nath’s Inspired Khmer Cuisine wins Souper Bowl XXIV in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, N.M. — Nath’s Inspired Khmer Cuisine was the big winner at The Food Depot’s Souper Bowl XXIV, a fundraiser for the northern New Mexico food bank.

Nath’s, a personal chef service of Chef Kim Nath Nau that serves up deluxe Asian food in her customers’ homes, won Best Overall Soup and Best Savory Soup with its Chicken Tom Yum Soup.

People who attended the Saturday event at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center voted on the best soups. Souper Bowl, presented by the Albuquerque Journal, hosted 25 restaurants.

Other category winners were:

*Best Cream Soup: Curry Roasted Garlic and Coconut Cream Bisque, Jambo Cafe

*Best Seafood Soup: Lobster Bisque, Dinner For Two

*Best Vegetarian: Cold Pistachio Soup, Kingston Residence of Santa Fe

The Food Depot, Northern New Mexico’s food bank, collects food from national, state and local sources and provides the donations through more than 120 partner agencies in nine counties. Partner agencies include emergency food pantries, hot meal programs, homeless shelters, youth programs, shelters for battered families, senior centers, rehabilitation programs and day care centers.

Since 2000, The Food Depot has distributed more than 28.3 million pounds of food and related product, providing more than 37.7 million meals in northern New Mexico.
