Talking Grammer, Ep. 4: A podcast conversation with Lobos strength coach Tyler Stuart - Albuquerque Journal

Talking Grammer, Ep. 4: A podcast conversation with Lobos strength coach Tyler Stuart

We’re back with another installment of the Talking Grammer podcast this week. Episode 4 features an interview I did with Lobo basketball strength and conditioning coach Tyler Stuart that also coincides with a feature publishing in Wednesday’s Journal.

Stuart is the man behind the madness of the crazy conditioning program UNM has implemented this season. How out of shape was this team when he started? How do he and Lobos coach Paul Weir work together? Why doesn’t he like his guys to use swimming in their workouts?

The podcast also features audio from an interview I had with Weir in August in which he explained his philosophy on hiring Tyler and his goal to have a program that could wear opposing teams down in the second halves of games.

Let me know what you think of the podcast on Twitter (@GeoffGrammer) or email me at ggrammer@abqjournal.com.

The Lobos are now sitting at 6-3 in Mountain West play and face Utah State on Wednesday night in Logan, Utah.

Here are the past three episodes of the Talking Grammer Podcast if you’re interested (all Lobo hoops stuff for now, but I’ll branch out when it’s not in the middle of the season):

Talking Grammer, Ep. 3: A podcast conversation with Lobos guard Anthony Mathis

Talking Grammer: A podcast with Lobo assistants Brandon Mason and David Chiotti

Talking Grammer: A podcast conversation with Lobo hoops coach Paul Weir
