Jeweler to take over Chophouse space

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry will open a 3,500-square-foot store in late spring at the former Marcello’s Chophouse location in ABQ Uptown, the company announced Wednesday.

It’s the Baton Rouge-based company’s ninth store and its first in New Mexico.

The new business, which will be located at 2201 Q Street NE, Suite 9B, will feature jewelry by top-end designers, including a selection of bridal products, as well as Rolex timepieces.

Lee Michaels has been family-owned for more than 40 years. The fine jewelry firm recently posted $50 million in sales.

“Albuquerque presented another opportunity to introduce new customers to that level of quality and service for which Lee Michaels is known in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi,” said Lee Berg, CEO and founder.

“We recognize our people are our greatest asset and are thrilled to have Ron Beauchamp, retired owner of Albuquerque’s own Beauchamp Jewelers, as a key team member to introduce us to the community,” said Ryan Berg, president of the firm, who will oversee the Albuquerque market.
