Dylan Horton, a safety of imposing size from Frisco (Texas) High School, has committed to attend the University of New Mexico.
Horton, listed at 6-foot-4 and 202 pounds, announced his commitment to UNM on Twitter Monday evening. He had committed to SMU in August but reopened his recruitment on Jan. 26.
He had scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Army, Fordham, Missouri State and Stephen F. Austin as well as from SMU and UNM.
Horton’s commitment, with that Monday evening of Naperville, Ill. kicker Stephen Ruiz, gives UNM 19 signings or commitments toward its 2018 recruiting class. Of those, 14 already have signed binding letters of intent.
Commitments are non-binding until a signed letter of intent is received by the school in question. Signing day is Wednesday.
