SIGNING UP: Several local high school players have committed to play football at the next level. Robertson quarterback/defensive back Arjay Ortiz signed a letter of intent to play at hometown New Mexico Highlands University. Cardinals teammate Brooks Pavlic, an offensive lineman, signed with Chadron State in Nebraska.
CORRIDA WINNERS: St. Michael’s High School junior Justin Angel won Saturday’s Corrida de Los Locos, finishing the 5-mile course at the Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe Golf Course in 29 minutes, 54 seconds. Haley Butler-Moore of Albuquerque was the first woman across the line, in a time of 36:41.
UPCOMING THINGS TO SEE OR DO
HOOPS: No. 3 Capital (18-5, 3-2 in District 2-5A) gets a chance at revenge in their own gym at 7 tonight against top-ranked Española Valley (21-1, 5-0). The Sundevils won the opener 83-65 last month.
