WITH THE high school basketball tournaments coming up next month I hope the concession prices will be lowered from previous years. These kids should be able to attend the games and enjoy themselves without having to pay ridiculous money to pay for food! This probably won’t do any good but maybe someone out there will listen. Does it always have to be about money and making big profits?

WHILE NOT a fan of any mercy rule or running clock for high school athletics, I agree with the Journal’s James Yodice’s comments that the Cibola girl’s 117-13 win over Rio Grande and West Mesa’s 97-22 victory over the Ravens were “overkill.” It’s all on the winning teams’ head coaches. They can still get something out of this type of game by playing their starters for the first quarter and then their reserves for the rest of the game. Rio Grande needs to get better, and their players continue to show up. One should respect that.
