SANTA FE – A Santa Fe High student was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening puncture wound after a fight, causing police to briefly put the school on lockdown Thursday.
Santa Fe Police Department spokesman Greg Gurule said a call came in around 12:30 p.m. about a fight between two students.
One student was taken to the hospital while the other was taken into police custody, but Gurule didn’t include any other information about the students or what may have caused the injury.
The school was put on lockdown until officers determined that there wasn’t an ongoing threat to students, Gurule said.
Parents were notified of the lockdown from an automated voice message that stressed that a gun was not involved.
