Shooting leads to a SWAT situation in northwest Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An early morning shooting lead to a SWAT situation in northwest Albuquerque on Sunday morning, according to a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department.

Officer Simon Drobik said that around 5:15 a.m. officers responded to a shots fired call and found a male with a gunshot wound. He said the offender then ran from the scene to a residence near Ladera and Market Street near Unser.

Police shut down eastbound Ladera for several hours while they tried to find the offender.

The offender was not found, Drobik said, but the victim is in stable condition.

No other information about the offender has been released.
