Thursday: The Isotopes (21-20) defeated the Reno Aces (17-24), 8-2 to open their eight-game homestand. With the victory, the Isotopes have won 13 of their last 18 games.

Albuquerque starter Jeff Hoffman recorded his best outing of the season, picking up the win while shutting out the Aces over his 6 ⅔ innings on the hill. The right-hander walked one and struck out 10. Hoffman’s 10 punch outs were the most from an Isotopes starter this season.

At the plate, the Isotopes bats remain hot. Tom Murphy connected on his team-leading 11th home run of the season while Jordan Patterson hit two home runs, his ninth and 10th of the campaign.

In his Triple-A debut, Garrett Hampson finished the night 3-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored. The 23-year-old infielder is the Rockies’ seventh-best prospect according to MLB.com.
