Monday: The Isotopes (32-32) were shut out for the second time in three days by the Omaha Storm Chasers (29-34), dropping the afternoon contest, 2-0. The loss marks the fifth shutout the Isotopes have suffered in 2018.
Albuquerque’s bats could not get rolling, mustering six hits against Omaha’s pitching staff. Jordan Patterson was the only Isotope with a multi-hit game, finishing the day 2-for-4 at the plate with a double.
The Storm Chasers scored the contest’s only runs against Isotopes starter David Holmberg in the seventh inning. Both runs were unearned as a result of an error by Isotopes shortstop Elliot Soto.
Holmberg pitched well despite the loss, allowing two runs over his 6⅔ innings on the mound. The southpaw did not allow a walk and struck out six.
Next home game: Vs. Memphis, Wednesday 6:35 p.m.
