SANTA FE, N.M. — Santa Fe Mayor Alan Webber issued a State of Emergency proclamation two days after a Monday night rainstorm that brought some parts of the city get more than 3 inches of rain in a three-hour period.
The storm caused flooding in some areas and damaged homes, roads, bridges, sidewalks and arroyos.
According to a news release, the proclamation opens up the potential for state and federal funding.
“This was a significant storm, and it has had a major impact on the lives of people in our community,” Webber said in a statement.
“We’ll use this proclamation to fight for state and federal funding that helps our neighbors — and neighborhoods — bounce back and recover.”
