ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Prosecutors have dropped the case against a Curry County jail officer accused of raping an inmate in 2016.
Christopher Riviers was charged with two counts of criminal sexual penetration and one count of voyeurism in August 2016.
A New Mexico State Police spokeswoman said at the time that the victim reported the rape once she was transferred out of the Curry County Detention Center.
Riviers was arrested and the court case proceeded for nearly two years, according to online court records.
All the charges were dropped in May of this year after prosecutors couldn’t get in touch with the victim, according to court records.
