Marble brews go Texan

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Marble Brewery is taking its award winning craft beers to El Paso.

“It is being well received,” said Tony Calder, Marble Brewery brand ambassador. “(People in El Paso) have been asking for a long time. We know that there have been bottles and kegs going across the state line illegally. Now they can get Marble beer legally.”

The beers roll out today with a series of events scheduled all this week at various venues in El Paso.

Tonight Marble beer releases will be held at Hoppy Monk on on El Paso’s West Side and at Craft & Social in Downtown El Paso. Other events are scheduled later this week at all three Tin Man locations including a Penny Growler Tap Takeover on Thursday. Patrons who buy a growler will get any Marble fill for one penny.

L & F Distributors, out of McAllen, Texas, has a branch in El Paso and will handle distribution of Marble products. Marble beers also will be available at several specialty retailers including Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods, Western Beverage Liquors & Wine locations, and Whole Foods in El Paso.

Marble Brewery celebrated its 10th anniversary in April.

Over the years Marble Brewing has fared well in national beer competitions. Last year, it won gold for its Cholo Stout in the American Style Stout category at the Great American Beer Festival. Marble also won bronze for its Pilsner in the Kellerbier or Zwickelbier category at GABF. The Pilsner has won six medals between the GABF and World Beer Cup. Marble’s most prominent recognition came in 2014, when it was named Small Brewery and Brewmaster of the Year.
