ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,500 reward for anyone with information about a pickup truck driver who struck a bicyclist, critically injuring him, and fled the scene Monday.
According to a news release sent out by the organization, a man was riding his bike on Yale and Ross SE, near Gibson, when he was struck by an orange or yellow older model Chevrolet pickup truck with a UNM license plate. The truck took off.
“The driver of the vehicle is described to be a skinny Spanish male in his 20’s with black hair,” the news release reads. “The vehicle was last seen headed southbound on Yale crossing Gibson Blvd SE.”
A CrimeStoppers supervisor said the organization had offered up a $500 reward for information in the case and a local business, who wished to remain anonymous, had stepped in to contribute $5000.
