Albuquerque’s Anika Apostalon is competing at the European Aquatics Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. Apostalon has gained dual citizenship and has for the 2018 Czech Republic team, per Swimming World magazine.
Apostalon, who earned nine All-America honors as a collegiate swimmer at San Diego State and Southern Cal, reached the semifinals in both the 50- and 100-meter freestyles before bowing out.
In July, Apostalon qualified for the European Championships with perfomances at the Czeck Swimming Championshps in Prague. Her time of 54.28 seconds in the 100 set a new Czech record.
