AUSTIN, Texas — Upland Software Inc. (UPLD) on Wednesday reported a loss of $5.2 million in its second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Austin, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 26 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, came to 38 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.
The maker of cloud-based enterprise work-management software posted revenue of $35.9 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $34 million.
For the current quarter ending in October, Upland Software said it expects revenue in the range of $36 million to $37 million.
The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $139.6 million to $142.6 million.
Upland Software shares have risen 57 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $33.98, an increase of 44 percent in the last 12 months.
