The “Prize Is Right” this August at Sandia Resort & Casino.
This month, the casino is holding its “The Prize is Right” promotion every Saturday. Swipe your Peak Rewards card at any kiosk from noon to 10 p.m. each Saturday this month to receive two times the points to $100 in slot free play. Also, four winners will be drawn each hour between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. for a chance at up to $10,000 cash.
In recognition of the coming school year, Sandia’s Planet Bingo will have a “Back to School” special on Sunday, Aug. 12, and Aug. 26, during both sessions. There will be two drawings during each session for a backpack with school supplies and a cash prize up to $500. Start collecting cards to be part of the evening session game on Aug. 31. The special “Catching Waves in Cabo” will give players a chance to win a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Over in the poker room, players will try their luck to win their entry into the Four Corners Poker Championship. There will be 10 qualifier tournaments at 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through Aug. 29. There is a $60 buy-in and a $5 entry fee. One $600 seat will be awarded for every 10 players.
The Four Corners Poker Championship will take place Sept. 1-3. There is a $45 buy-in and a $55 entry fee as well as a $20 add on for 10,000 in chips. Flight A begins at noon on Sept. 1, Flight B starts at noon on Sept. 2, and the finals kick off at noon on Sept. 3. There will be an added $5,000 in cash. Every entry will receive a customized tournament card protector.
Sandia retired its Keno game on July 31 to make room for some exciting new changes.

Sandia has some great entertainment lined up this August. Blues legend Buddy Guy and incredible blues guitarist Jonny Lang will take the Sandia Amphitheater stage on Aug. 18. On Aug. 24, Mexican American singer, songwriter and actor Pepe Aguilar will perform his famous ranchera and mariachi music.
Sandia wraps up its concert season in September. Singer and Latin American icon Luis Miguel, also referred to as El Sol de Mexico, performs Sept. 4. Country star Trace Adkins comes to the Sandia Amphitheater with special guest A Thousand Horses on Sept. 15. The concert season ends with a bang with ’80s legends Boy George and Culture Club with special guest Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins.
