Marble Brewery launches distribution in El Paso

Marble Brewery has ventured into Texas and is now distributing its beers in El Paso.

“The entire Marble Team is pumped to be coming to this great neighboring city, meeting thirsty residents, opening the taps, and becoming part of the El Paso community,” said Ted Rice, Marble Brewery president and brewmaster.

Marble held numerous launch events, including tastings and tap takeovers, at a number of El Paso venues and retailers from Aug. 6 to Aug. 10.

“Marble’s decision to expand to El Paso was a no-brainer,” said Nate Tarantino, Marble’s chief financial officer. “There are many cultural similarities with our hometown of Albuquerque, which makes El Paso feel like an extension of home. El Pasoans have also been asking for Marble beer for a long time, and we are very humbled and excited to answer their call.”

Marble brands now available in El Paso are Double White, IPA, Red Ale, Pilsner, Wildflower Wheat, Oatmeal Stout, Passionate Gose and Cholo Stout.

“The crowd favorites during launch thus far have been the ever-popular Double White, as well as Red Ale and Wildflower Wheat,” Tarantino said. “We are also seeing great interest in the newly released and unabashedly bold styles of Cholo Stout and Passionate Gose.”

In its first week of market launch, Marble landed 45 accounts in El Paso, with 20 of those being package retailers including Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods, Western Beverage Liquors & Wine locations, and Whole Foods. The remaining accounts are restaurants and craft beer bars throughout the city, Tarantino said.

L&F Distributors of McAllen, Texas, has a branch in El Paso and will handle distribution of Marble products.

“With the help of L&F Distribution, we plan to add another 100 accounts in the next six months,” Tarantino said.

Marble Brewery celebrated its 10th anniversary in April.

Over the years, Marble has fared well in national beer competitions. Last year, it won gold for its Cholo Stout in the American Style Stout category at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Marble also won bronze for its Pilsner in the Kellerbier or Zwickelbier category at the festival. The Pilsner has won six medals between the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup. Marble’s most prominent recognition came in 2014, when it was named Small Brewery and Brewmaster of the Year.
