Sitel adding 400 jobs at ABQ call center

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Sitel is planning to add 400 jobs to its Albuquerque call center as it gains two new clients to its portfolio, the company announced Thursday.

Sitel says it will hire for a range of postions, from customer service agents to leadership jobs that include coaches, operations managers and trainers, the company said in a news release.

The pay will range from about $9.50 an hour to $12 an hour, with opportunities for increases, said Matt Doyle, Sitel’s director of talent acquisition for North America.

The news release says the company is expanding because of the addition of two new financial services clients and because of growth of an existing customer, a global satellite service provider. Doyle said he could not name the companies.

The positions are meant to be permanent, full-time jobs, although Sitel is willing to be flexible about fewer hours as long as a candidate has completed full-time training, he said.

With the nation’s extremely tight labor market, Sitel is “just having to be more creative” when it comes to finding enough workers to fill its openings, Doyle said.

Most of the new employees will deal with inbound phone calls, although the company is also looking for some people who can handle chat and email correspondence, Doyle said.

Sitel will hold job fairs to fill the positions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at its Albuquerque center at 4420 The 25 Way. They will be filled over the next 120 days.

Sitel has 150 offices in 25 countries. It has 700 employees in Albuquerque.
