West Side gets its own La Cumbre

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Call it a hoppy Monday for West Side fans of La Cumbre Brewing.

Owners of the business toasted the the new enterprise at a Sunday soft opening at the new location at Coors and Montaño.

Monday was the first regular day for the taproom, which is in the same retail center where Sprouts grocery store is the anchor tenant.

The Albuquerque craft brewing company has 18 taps on offer at the new establishment, according to its Facebook page.

La Cumbre began as a small operation in 2010 with five part-time employees and has since expanded to over 40 full-time workers. The company also maintains a taproom in the brewery district at 3313 Girard NE. It was extensively renovated in 2014, but until now, the company had not opened additional taprooms around the city, as many of its competitors hade done.
