ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Tevaka Tuioti, a redshirt sophomore, has been named the starting quarterback for the University New Mexico’s football team, coach Bob Davie said Monday morning.

Tuioti, a 6-foot-1, 199-pound signal-caller who saw action in eight games with one start last year, will lead the Lobos against Incarnate Word Saturday at Dreamstyle.

Tuioti possesses a strong arm. He has a quiet confidence and is well-liked by his teammates, Davie has said.
