Wednesday: Sacramento’s Chris Shaw broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning with his 24th homer of the season to give the host River Cats a 2-1 victory over Albuquerque.
The Isotopes’ David Holmberg worked 6⅔ innings and gave up two runs, dropping his record to 7-8.
Albuquerque took a lead in the second inning on Jordan Patterson’s 26th home run of the season. He had two of the Isotopes’ five hits in the game, which lasted only 2 hours, 9 minutes.
That edge lasted until the sixth inning, when Sacramento’s Peter Bourjos drove in the tying run with a single.
