College soccer: Lobos in California, Aggies at home Friday

The University of New Mexico soccer teams are both in California for a two-game road swing beginning Friday night. The Lobo men are at Cal State Northridge  for an 8 p.m. game between 1-1 teams. UNM (1-1) is coming off a home split vs. ranked teams, beating Seattle and losing to Washington, which is now No. 3 after its 2-0 win Monday over the Lobos.

“We learned a great deal from the loss and our young group will be much better the rest of the way,” said UNM coach Jeremy Fishbein.

The Lobo women (2-1), who have scored nine goals in their last two games, face host UC Davis (0-2) at 6 p.m.

NMSU: In Las Cruces, the Aggies (0-4) host Northern Illinois (0-3) at 4 p.m.
