ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Shooting occurred during a domestic dispute over the weekend
A Veguita woman authorities say was involved in a domestic dispute with several family members over the weekend is accused of wounding her boyfriend by shooting him twice with a handgun, State Police Lt. Eric Garcia said.
Garcia, the State Police spokesman, said in a news release that Jessica Granados, 24, was arrested early Sunday in connection with the incident Saturday evening and was charged with two counts of aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Granados turned herself in at the Los Lunas State Police office at about 3 a.m. Sunday with the handgun used in the shooting and was transported back to Socorro County, where she was booked into the Socorro County Detention Center, the news release said.
The shooting occurred during a domestic dispute at a residence off N.M. 304 in Veguita when Granados got the handgun and shot her boyfriend before fleeing, according to the news release. The boyfriend was transported to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque.
