Pres partners on four hybrid clinics

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Presbyterian Healthcare Services is partnering with Texas-based Intuitive Health on four free-standing clinics that will offer both urgent and emergency care.

Construction is already in progress on one of the clinics on San Pedro and Paseo, and others are planned on the West Side as well as Uptown. A Presbyterian spokeswoman said another project site in an undisclosed location is being evaluated.

Presbyterian had previously announced two such facilities, with a possible third at Uptown. The partnership between Presbyterian and Intuitive, which specializes in building and operating hybrid urgent and emergency care clinics, was announced Thursday.

“Presbyterian and Intuitive saw the opportunity to improve the patients’ experience and decrease their guesswork by creating a single venue with 24/7 access to both services,” Presbyterian Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Clay Holderman said in a news release.

Thom Herrmann, Intuitive’s CEO, said in a statement that the hybrid model addresses market demand for “convenience, immediate access to care, better customer service and greater transparency into the billing process.”

The facilities are expected to be open by the end of 2019, according to the release.
