Ninth person dead after bus crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A ninth person has died after a wreck involving a semi-truck and a Greyhound bus, according to the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.

In a social media post Sunday evening, the center said that three people remain hospitalized after the Aug. 30 crash.

According to police, a semi-truck traveling on Interstate 40 crossed into oncoming traffic near Thoreau after a tire blowout. The truck then collided head-on with a Phoenix-bound bus carrying 47 people.

UNMHSC has not released the name of the ninth victim.
