Dispensary worker accused of pocketing pot

Justin Gerber, 26 (MDC)

A medical marijuana dispensary employee is in jail after police say he stole thousands of dollars worth of high-grade pot from his workplace over the weekend.

Justin Gerber, 26, was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center early Tuesday, charged with larceny of over $2,500.

Employees of Reynold Greenleaf & Associates called police Sunday to report that Gerber was caught stealing marijuana, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court.

Police say Gerber is a harvest technician and “deals directly with the marijuana.”

A manager at the dispensary told police they noticed Gerber had “large bulges” in his pockets when he went on lunch break.

Police say that Gerber went to his locker and that when he returned, the bulges were gone.

According to the complaint, employees searched Gerber’s locker and found disposable gloves stuffed with a half-pound of “high-grade marijuana” – worth over $2,500.

Police say Gerber told to his employers that he took the marijuana to make cannabis oil for his mother.

Reynold Greenleaf & Associates could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
