Police identify teen killed in weekend homicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police have released the name of 17-year-old who was killed Sunday night in a northeast Albuquerque neighborhood.

Albuquerque police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said officers found Adrian Martinez with “trauma” to his head on the 700 block of Monroe NE, near Washington and Lomas, after reports of gunfire in the area.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say officers talked to several witnesses and are now looking for a white SUV that was seen leaving the area.

Gallegos would not give Martinez’ cause of death or say if police had any suspects in custody.
